In this episode of Raising Questions, Michael Hirsh reflects on how children’s media has evolved over the past decades and where he believes it is headed next.
Michael Hirsh co-founded Nelvana, the Canadian animation studio behind dozens of world-famous children’s television programmes. After leaving Nelvana, he continued to build new companies in children’s media.
Over a career spanning more than fifty years, he has witnessed almost every major technological change in children’s media. Throughout that time, he has embraced change rather than resisted it, constantly exploring new technologies, new formats and new ways of telling stories for children.
